From Arequipa (where I had my phone stolen) I took the overnight bus to Cusco.
Images from Cusco
Alpaca, cuteness incarnated
Vicuña- careful they SPIT!A reproduction of an Inca bridge only theirs were narrower. It bounces as you walk!
A play in front of the Catholic Church, awareness on LGBT rights, it WAS very funny!
One of the 12 corners stone cut by the Incas. No one knows how they managed it. All kinds of wild tales are going around: fire, sound, extra terrestrials…. and a local woman weaving while waiting for costumers
I decided to take the road instead of the overpriced train. It starts off beautifully until the road turns into a track on the side of the mountain. Still beautiful but…… nail bitting returned 🙂
Rest before the 13 km treck along the railway line. You had to look at your FEET the whole time. I ached everywhere when I got to Aguas Calientes and treated myself to the HOT Springs. So nice!
The next day: Majestic MACHU PICHU
4:15 am queuing up for the bus to Machu Pichu, the line is growing by the minute. The way the Incas walked, up to the Sun GateNo need for words – the sun is beginning to pierce throughWay above the cloudsCoca leaves help w staminaWay above the cloudsThe guardian’s house restored w thatch roof.On the way back, majestic mountainsAmazing experience climbing up (slowly) and taking part of this beauty
Thank you for sharing. What a journey. Sending love and prayers your way. Big hugs from snowy mountain ⛄️☃️
